I've never played D/P but apparently they weren't brilliant. I did enjoy Platinum though.

I tried playing Gen III again as well, and I felt it was just meh.

Not a bad game but definitely the worst of the Pokemon games

D/P had a lot of flaws that were fixed in platinum. If you play gen V and then go play D/P, it feels like you're playing in slow motion. Pt and HGSS also do this to some extent, but nowhere nearly as bad as D/P
