Pokemon: The Board Game
ok, i just thought of this, so don't expect the most "refined" idea in the world
you start out in professor (insert tree name here)'s office, and he gives you your starter, an eevee. your goal, instead of defeating all of the gym leaders, is to go and stop Team Rocket (or whatever evil organization you want) from their misdeeds of cloning pokemon
now, i did say that it would be a boardgame, and here is where the idea shows that. your map is just one big board with different sheets, that are put on the board, for different areas. it would follow a basic movement system, with a pair of dice deciding where you go. wherever you land a tile underneath you will determine whether or not you find an item, fight a wild pokemon/trainer, or open up a new area (i.e. landing on a lever to open a door). stepping on a certain tile that contains a certain stone (or time for pokemon like umbreon and espeon) will evolve whatever pokemon you have out. the game would be up to five players, with everyone either against each other or working as a team.
to fight, your pokemon will have two major factors. fighting points and types. fighting points will mostly decide how the fight will end, with the larger number winning the fight. types would just multiply or divide the number of fighting points depending on what you are fighting against and what you are. each pokemon has a different ability
for an example, a pokemon like murcrow or lapras will have an advantage depending on their location. maybe for pidgey all pokemon smaller than it would lose 1/4 of their fighting points. or maybe for someone else like ditto, every odd number of fighting points is doubled while every even number of fighting points would be cut down drastically.
well, i just made that up. anyone have any interest on making it an actual game?
