Ghetsis is his uncle, which is why they look so much alike. He killed his brother and sister in law for some unknown reason, and raised his nephew to be able to wield Reshiram/Zekrom.

Its stated in in-game dialogue that he was found as a child in the wild. Which is also the cutscene we see at the OP of BW.

I do think it's weird that N is adopted, considering how much he and Ghetsis look alike, but it was already hinted at BW1, when one of the Sages said that that they don't if they're really father and son.

Because his powers are supposed to come from his ancestry to the king of the abyssal ruins, if Ghetsis was his biological dad he wouldn't need N in the first place.

It's very loosely implied that N's ancestor was the king of the abyssal ruins if you read the ancient texts in there. That king may or may not be the owner of the original Zekrom-Reshiram dragon.

I didn't knew the part about the king, but basically this. If N was Ghestis' son, either he wouldn't have his magical pokémon powers or Ghetis would likely have them too, so N wouldn't really be needed.

On a more serious note, though, I do feel for N. Sad what he went through. Listening to the N encounter from BW and then the one from BW2 makes me feel all right afterwards though.
