Pick a better starter

Also there's a guy who gives you a monkey thing that is like the opposite type of whatever the gym leader is using and he gives it to you for a reason, so use it.

Wasn't there this whole thing about not being able to focus on throwing the pokeball at a single pokemon in a double battle?

I remember it was a huge thing in Gen 4 because your partners kept killing shinies.
