I'm going through Emerald as my first time into Hoenn, and I'm making bros left and right.

The water? I'm currently at Sootopolis, and it wasn't that bad. I stocked up on Repels at Mossdeep and it was smooth sailing from there.

Pokemon design is subjective, but I've only seen a few Pokemon I didn't like.

But really... What's overly wrong about Hoenn? It feels like a good region to me, just like Sinnoh and Unova are.
