>>12217118>Gen V does that, didn't make the game harder.I'm not talking about giving less exp if you're overleveled
>So every Gym is the exact same and the Leaders' Pokemon can use moves they're not supposed to have at their level?no and no. we already had "flavour" gyms (elesa is a model, for example, giving her electric pokèmon always seemed a bit of a stretch to me) and I said BETTER movepool, not illegal ones. as in, I don't know, Starmie with thunderbolt since it's a tm, of course such movepools would vary alongside the level, so you could choose witch gyms to fight first for example
>Be hard to do that one since "best" is subjective.rarer? like those riolus in flannery ranch, for example. though, see the last point:
>That doesn't make the game harder, it makes it annoying. Everyone was glad when Gen III abandoned the "wild Pokemon can run away" mechanic, it was at its most bullshit in Gen II with 5% encounter rate Phanpys and Teddiursas immediately running.>So we have to do all of that shit AND battle them (with critical hits and recoil moves and shit)? Fuck no.you wouldn't have to do that for every fucking rattata, but for riolus, as I said, or those dragons which have ridicously low encounter rate. instead of basing it on luck you could actively search for them. also fleeing would work different, as I said: you could use certain pokèmon not to scare them, or baits and shit like that (without even bringing out a pokèmon)
I'm just dreaming, I know GF won't make anything like that. However some mechanics I was dreaming of don't necessarily make the game that harder, just different and smarter (not neckbeard-autistic-smart, average-kid-smart too)
