I think this is true to some degree. I still get enjoyment out of Yellow and I can occasionally have fun with Red/Blue. If I played them too often though I probably wouldn't.

I didn't start Pokemon playing gen1, so it has no nostalgic value for me. Playing through Blue after having played the later games is torturous because of the Special stat being one, the game-breaking glitches, and overall bad design of the game.
It was probably great for its time, but it's nothing more than a shitty old game at this point.

I'll still occasionally play Blue from time to time. The mechanics are outdated but they're still enjoyable games. Hell, the bugs actually make it interesting at times too, like Missigno, Mew and Glitch City.

Same here. I've come to the conclusion that anyone who rails against anything past gen 2 is of the crowd that only played the games when they were first popular and only played BECAUSE it was popular. Then middle school/junior high came, gen 3 came, popularity dropped, and the people who only played because it was popular broke off from the group and said "Pokemon is for babies". Now that being a nerd is cool, these people are coming back and saying "Well, I liked gen 1 and gen 2, but the REST is still shit." in a vain attempt to conjure themselves some phony nerd cred. They're basically Pokemon hipsters: they pretend to like one facet of a thing in order to look cool, but subsequent bashing of the other facets of said thing just makes them look like an elitist prick.

Every generation has its merits and faults. I enjoy replaying any of them.

One thing I do miss, however, is the badass concept art from the first two generations. The main character design was much rougher and in my opinion a lot better back then. The remake of Gold and Silver made Ethan/Gold such a pussy compared to before.

They went from a slightly more technologically advanced world filled with superpowered animals... to futuristic, flamboyant regions filled with magical monsters. It gets harder to suspend disbelief, at least for some.

I can understand being sort of upset after having to deal with another faggot saying that this game's legend is more legendary than the previous one.

obvious/10. Not all people here are "hurr my 151" faggots and actually admit that even though gen 5 wasn't exactly the best ever, most of the pokemon designs were good and the battle system remained solid (with the exception of the new sleep mechanic, that thing sucks).

To be fair there's a shitload of bugs and issues with the actual battle system, but it's hard to notice unless you actually look for them since the metagame in Gen 1 basically didn't exist and the in-game battles were so simplistic.
