What are your guys' opinions on PokeGen and similar programs? I used to be really against it (I thought it was cheating, lazy, etc), but ever since I lost my Black version (with ~40 legit hatched, IV and EV trained Pokes) I really don't feel like doing al that again for my Black 2 version. I'm actually pretty bummed with all the time and effort I spent training those things.

Anyways, what are your thoughts? I still feel like it's kinda dirty and cheap, but at this point I'm just too lazy and defeated to legitimately train my Pokemon.

It's cheating.
Cheating in single-player is just fine.
In multiplayer, ask your opponent, "Hey, is it okay with you if I'm a cheater?" In Pokemon, the odds are actually pretty good that they'll be cool with it.

I use PokeGen to make lv1 Pokemon with perfect IVs. Skip past the tediousness and stupidity of breeding and IVs yet I still get to train them myself.

Who the hell cares if the pokemon came from poke'gen so long as its within legit boundaries. Not everyone has the time between work, college and a social life to breed for perfect IVs.

My personal rules are:

>Only use it to edit IVs. It's not my fault the in-game system for manipulating IVs is fucking stupid, random, and too time consuming.
>Never create a Pokemon from nothing. Never generate a Pokemon I haven't caught or seen yet.
>Never give it ridiculous items like Master Balls. Battle Frontier items are okay.
>Never make things shiny.
>Never clone.
>Never leave any trace of it having been in Pokegen; all data must be legit and in the correct Pokeball.

I don't care how other people use it, but I mean, if you beat my team with 6 Pokemon you made from scratch and just gave them EVs and items and all ribbons, congratulations, I guess.

Depends. Is it for a competitive team, because it would take too long to fully IV breed, EV train and level to 100? Are the moves, abilities, gender, etc... all 'legit', that being moves/abilities/etc that they can learn? If yes, then I support it. For ingame, do whatever the fuck you want. Give yourself a hacked wondertomb with maxed stats, I won't care.

Fun fact: There's no difference between a Pokémon you can hack in a few minutes with Pokegen and the one you spent weeks breeding to get perfect IVs. Both are considered legal.
