Three years later, Giovanni's son felt neglected so he fought a revived Team Rocket and became an asshole, but turned nice after meeting the protagonist. Blue became a gym leader, Lance became Champion of the Indigo League and Koga became an Elite Four member, with his daughter taking over Fuschia Gym. Red, the protagonist of Gen I, went into seclusion in Mount Silver and was later beaten by the Gen II protagonist, who had previously beaten the Indigo League.
Meanwhile, in Sinnoh, Team Galactic tried to take over the world by using the power of the Lake Trio of Legendary Pokemon to summon and enslave Dialga and Palkia, who controlled time and space respectively. However, Giratina, the Pokemon who controlled the Distortion World, stopped Dialga and Palkia from resetting time and space and recreating it in Team Galactic's image. Also some kid from Twinleaf beat the Sinnoh League.
