Nah, substitute is fine the way it is. I like the design, GF should make a doll-based pokemon, but less "dark" than banette

Isn't it basically just a Rhydon? I mean it was originally just the Gen 1 party sprite for 'monster' Pokemon, which greatly resembles and considering it was the first Pokemon ever, was probably based on Rhydon. Gen 3 removed the horns but its still pretty much the same thing.

I mean, just look at this early art of Rhydon, especially the one on the top left. They're clearly the same thing - even the modern Substitute doll still looks a lot like it.

No, his/her/its health is based on his/her/its health stat, with the max being 100 (Or maybe 200), and the min being 1
The way it would work is that it takes a percentage of (one of) the other pokemon based on Substitute's HP stat, so say that the other Pokemon has 200 HP, and Substitute has an HP stat of 2, Substitute would have 2% of 200 for his/her/its HP, or 4 HP.
