I seriously wish that they would stop including the legendary pokemon in the games storyline.

Legendary pokemon are best when they are incredibly hard to find and optional, now they force them down your throat and make it so it's impossible to fail at catching them.

I wish they would become legendary again.

I like them when they're in the story line because then I give a shit about them. When they don't have a backstory they just feel like any other Pokemon. Its like so the fuck what, what makes you so legendary?

I'm fine with one or two being involved in the storyline but I wish the rest were more mysterious and hidden - i hate being signposted to them throughout the game. B+W2 were pretty terrible for this; I like to discover legendaries and only get small hints about their existence.

Have you played BW1? They were pretty hidden in those, not as well as the Regis in the 3rd gen, but they still gave certain places a reason to exist. In the sequels they kept the places but replaced the Pokémon, now that's what I call useless

Mewtwo was a the final thing to do and the ultimate challenge in RBY

3rd gen started all the bullshit

3 story legends
2 (non obtainable) event legends
2 roaming legends which was fine but only 1 per game (compared to all 3 in GSC)
3 hidden lower tier legends (Good hiding but they were too weak compared to all the other legendarys, poor levels too)

This is true. I hate that I had to catch Kyogre/Groudon in Gen III, Dialga/Palkia (and Giratina in Gen IV) and Reshiram/Zekrom (and Kyurem) in Gen V.

I loved that Giratina was totally hidden from me until I went to the Internet. Same goes for Rayquaza.

Now, I was aware of Lugia and Ho-oh but I didn't have to get them once I got their respective Key Items if I didn't want to.

I didn't like having to catch Groudon and Kyogre ESPECIALLY since if you didn't catch or miss a Pokemon in those days, you couldn't get them back.

Agreed. I love the Arceus event but the Shaymin and Darkrai ones were very interesting.

I liked the way Mewtwo was hidden in RBY. He was hinted at in Cinnibar Mansion, but only if you went out of your way to read the diaries. Similarly, Ho-oh and Lugia were placed into GSC perfectly. Both have vague mentions ingame, with references mostly to the Ecruteak City lore, and Lugia was hidden very well. Gen 3 came around, and i was somewhat disappointed that I was being handed a legendary, but trying to find the Regis was fun. I managed to stumble upon the underwater cave, but had no idea what to do beyond that. I finally found out the answer when I saw some braille signs in public and realized they looked familiar. The fact that this sort of stuff doesn't happen anymore is pretty saddening to me.

They certainly make the meta easier. Whether you ever really needed them at all to sweep the elite four handily is debatable. Unless you used one of THOSE pokemon with no-moves syndrome.

No you retard, you're only required to CATCH in BW1. Reshiram and Zekrom are the only legendaries canonly caught by the player, everything else is defeated.
