But it's lack of anything particularly indicative of an ability to actually fly really hurt the flying case. If it had wings, or even something feathery-looking, then yeah, flying. Hell, if flying type were called air type instead, I'd be on board.
Personally, I'm in normal camp, mostly because of the already existing fairies being normal, and Sylveon's design isn't terribly far off from Delcatty. Plus I really don't think GF would just up and retcon a whole bunch of long-standing normal types. If we're adding a new type, I think they'd go for something completely new (which is understandably difficult), but that's why fairy doesn't make much sense to me.
