Oh god. I thought these were alright before, but it seems all the awful details were conveniently covered in the original image. That Fennekin arm is offensively bad. It actually makes me kind of angry. Froakie's feet... whoo.

The face on the Chespin one is the best part to me. It's got charm and originality. It can be debated if it suits pkmn. And everything else...

At least Charizard has wings, horns and a long neck, features that Charmander doesn't have. These fakemon, on the other hand, don't really gain any new features, and just look like their first stage prevos but bigger and darker.

Foams and bubbles are a pretty obvious theme for a Water type.

Besides, I think it might be inspired by some species of frogs, like this little guy:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_foam-nest_tree_frog, that lay their eggs in foam to keep them from drying out.
