Lucario Evolution

So I was on Serebii looking at the info on this new Tretta 3DS and I read that it was coming with Eevee, Mewtwo, and Lucario.

Both Eevee and Mewtwo are getting either a new forme or a new evolution in Gen 6. So would it be a reach to think that Lucario is get a Gen 6 evo?

What do you guys think?

Nah man it's just because Lucario's popular, plus they did some thing on Pokémon Smash where they had their mascot Lucario do some athletic tricks and shit to determine what moves it'd have in Tretta if I remember correctly

I think Lucario is pretty popular, so that might be why it's included. But an evolution isn't too out of the question, I guess, although Lucario's design is already quite elaborate, an evolution might be too overdesigned and look awful...

No dude. Lucario is just that popular. They couldn't evolve him without fucking him up, appearance-wise (he looks like a final stage evo already) or competitive-wise (525 BST and a ridiculously good movepool).

Charizard gets fucking 3DS shits despite being 15 years old and the other two get nothing.

Pikachu is plastered on damn near everything.

Lucario has been getting a lot of attention since he was first introduced back in 2004.

Why is this shocking to anyone?

Right on schedule. I knew this is what we were going to get the moment they showed us nothing but old pokemon in the locations and battles for X&Y. It's the same kind of mixture you see in Gen 2 and 4.

They could evolve him just fine and 525 is barely OU these days (Lucario, Metagross, etc... are about to fall out of that tier soon).

These are nothing more than rationalizations. People want to see popular pokemon get evolutions because they like their favorites getting stronger. It's a simple as that. In marketing terms it's an easy excuse to put the pokemon on tons of merchandise.
