I wouldn't care about monotypes anyway, but I'm not 100% sold on anyone of them so I could easily switch to Froakie or Fennekin if I don't like Chespin's evolution. All three of them aren't very interesting.

Also, even a monotype fire would be extremely refreshing.

What do you mean they don't work in game? Serperior and Meganium were excellent members to my team, I could always count on them to get me out of a jam and I don't even care for Meganium.

Well, they work, but the games are easy enough to the point where it's much more efficient to just sweep everything rather than stall them out.

Walls are pointless in-game. Enemies are easy enough that the most you'll ever need to do is type match. You technically can use walls, but beating someone with a wall is a slow process and not worth the time.

Oh, well I try to make the game a bit more challenging by not abusing weaknesses and Meganium and Serperior work great as switch-ins when another pokemon gets fucked so they do great for my playstyle, but I see your point that they aren't the most efficient.

Kinda sucks that pretty much any grass dual type has awful weaknesses. Best option I can think of is grass/rock, and I don't see the woodchuck starter evolving into that typing.

Shame because I like grass pokemon.

if it evolves into a hedgehog (I think some of the foreign language names for it reference a hedgehog, and there's the 'pin' in the english name) it might be grass/rock, with the spikes of the hedgehog being rocky. but who knows?
