thinking of checking out competitive scene just to play my teams against new poeple, see the rules

Evasion Clause- cant double up evasion ability and item
Sleep Clause- you can only put one pokemon to sleep
OHKO Clause- no moves like fissue
Self-KO Clause- self KO loses game
Species Clause- no doubles
Strict Damage Clause- each move does set damage

Wow, is the game really that broken? I mean Swift swim means your a rain team with mostly water types and Thunder is going to have 100% hit, the evasion rule can be countered by moves with perfect accuracy,

I don't know much about hardcore battleing but is all this really necessary?
