There's a larger chance that the Fairy type is real than otherwise because of where it came from. That's just a simple fact in terms of the odds we're discussing here. You can continue to be skeptical all you want, but most likely you're going to be wrong.
It's always better to be right above being skeptical, always. Skepticism comes into play when there's actually some form form of questioning that can raise doubt on a specific subject, which Pokemon rumors barely have because there is barely even anything to draw from to be skeptical about in the first place.
But then you got Hiro's case, who has yet to post any fake "leaks." The odds are simply in favor of him being right above anything else. If you end up being wrong, who cares? If it's fake, it's only a Pokemon rumor, move on with your life.
