I removed the badge thing because it looks tacky and unnecessary.
I also neatened his hair up on one side to give it some consistency, as I've always felt that Reds new hairstyle resembled the cliche hair of a mad scientist, and frankly looked shitty.
My two changes were mainly to coincide with my solid idea that Red has grown into a trainer that needs only essential items/dress. Every aspect of his design has been planned with necessity in mind, short hair, few items carried, and his trust worthy/reliable team.
I feel as though Reds design changes need to reflect his growth and maturity.
The designers must feel this also, but have also tried to inject the same campy magnetism the protagonists share in the newer versions all because he was the main character in the flagship title. Notice how the bright colours and flared design impose a juxtaposition with his serious face and demeanor.
He ideally, now that his game has become obscure and outdated, needs to be left to grow into his more serious characteristics.
