Is anyone else just pleasantly surprised at the direction they're taking with gen 6 in Pokemon design? There isn't a single design I don't like this gen. I'm loving it.

The panda. I also liked the generic bird, I have a thing for simple eyes, can't stand too much animu, and that's why I don't like the ibex so much, he is cool, but that round animu face is horrible. pic related.

I'm most excited about Xerneas and Sylveon because I'm pretty sure they'll both be Light-types.
But as far as usage goes, the lizard, Froakie and the panda make my pants happy.
And if the bird evolves into a Fire/Flying, you can put him up there with them.
This is the first generation ever where i won't be choosing the fire starter for my first playthrough. Froakie master race.

People seem to really like the lizard thing. Anyone care to elaborate on it? I don't particularly dislike it, it just looks kinda stupid to me. I didn't even think it was a lizard at first, why does it have big floppy ears?

Hoothoot has the whole thing of being based on a clock, what with eyes/eyebrows and the standing on one foot. Really, it's the only one that actually does something pretty creative, which is a bit of a shame.

I just have a boner for electric-types.
Plus, my instincts tell me that when it evolves, that normal type is gonna change and I'm excited to see what it changes to.
My money it's on electric/light (yes, i think there's going to be a light type, deal with it) or electric/dragon.

I'm just pretty sure Sylveon is definitely a light-type and if that's the case, Xerneas' rainbow-crystalline-horn structure feels kinda prism-esque and gives me a feeling that it could also be a light type.
Of course, i could be wrong but that's all part of the fun of speculation.
