>>12306647I'll be crucified for this, but I honestly preferred it to Explorers of Sky. The low pokemon count didn't bother me much, and by sheer luck I was wanting to play Snivy with Axew partner anyway, but I can defiantly see why people would get pissed at this. In short, the low pokemon count is worse on paper than in practice, but it's still not good.
I did enjoy the v-wave and mysteriosity mechanics as well, spicing things up slightly. the graphics are possibly the best in any pokemon game to date if you ask me, as is the soundtrack.
As for the story...well, I honestly didn't think much of Sky's aside from the special episodes due to the rather flat characters and the vapid partner, but this game develops its cast far more and allows them to get more involved with the adventure instead of occasionally joining you and just sort of being there at other times. Also, each event feels relevant to the story bar maybe a couple of them which is more than I can say for the void that is the first third of Explorers.
