He may be the third in a line of Fire/Fighting Pokemon.
He may be yet another reference to "Journey to the West".
He may be slower than molasses in January.
But damn it, /vp/, I really like Emboar, at least in-game. I prefer dual-type Pokemon, which was one reason I always choose him over the other two. He has great HP, high Attack, and good Special Attack. He learns a LOT of strong moves that provide good coverage. And he's the only Fire-type that can learn a Water-type move that's not only strong but also burns 30% of the time, which means other Fire-types, Ground-types, and physical attackers beware. Plus I think he looks really cool.
I still would have preferred if he had been Fire/Dark and was based more on Ganondorf as a shout out to the Zelda series, though.
