At the risk of sounding like a Hoennbabby, Gens 1-3.

Gen V added nothing substantial to the battle system, it was just what Gen VI should of been. Also, it got rid of all the neat side content like contests, bases, pokeatholon and replaced them with complete trash.

Gen V wasn't terrible, but it sure was disappointing.

I still dont wanna preorder either one because they havent shown anything relating to the differences in versions, if I'd choose now though I'd probably go with Y because I really like the Bird legendary, but if X has coolers themes/exclusives/other cool shit I'll totally go for that.

I didn't like Gen V either. Think it had arguably the poorest pokemon designs, had a lot of things I didn't like and took out some things I had liked from previous generations.
