helioptile could be "helio" (sun) and "reptile"...which is much simpler than fucking helioiphile...nobody knows that word. that's a very specific scientific term. why would he assume it's heliophile??? the guy clearly made these up. they aren't terrible names...and so he is probably proud of them and wants to explain what they mean. he should have just left off the explanations.

Seeing EVs in detail seems a bit unlikely as well.

It's not like they don't do gimmick nonsense like this all the time.

They created little cup. They singled out which Pokemon you were allowed to use for shit like Amity Park and the wireless minigames in FR/LG. I'm sure this battle type isn't the usual smogon-type metagame style battling you're thinking of and just some gimmick nonsense like rotation or contests.

It's much more than a static damage formula that you just plug in four variables for. You're doing like 12 different checks per Pokemon every move now.
It's like the difference between a straight line and a 2-dimensional array.

I mean sure he has the names but knowing them in advance by a day doesn't impress me enough to put my complete faith in it.

His strenght and weakness for fairy type are not the same as Smash one.
Hiro said that the majority of the rumors were false.
Also dual type move and a second Mewtwo form seems improbable
Also he gives the english name only the day before official revelation, Serebii got new images just by changing some thing in the official site url, he could just have done the same.

I seriously don't understand why you wouldn't want a new type and please don't come with the bullshit that it will break the game beacuse adding new pokemon and moves already breaks it a lot.

Mawile is Steel/Fairy, and Steel is super-effective towards Fairy.

For all we know it's just like Psyshock where it gets X STAB but Y weaknesses/resistances

Or you can choose the type of the move or something.

I wouldn't have believed "combination moves" in gen 5, but the way they executed them (the pledges), it was shitty and not what people were expecting at all.

I'm just going to point out something here that I think everyone is taking wrong on these rumors. These are the facts:

1. These rumors are that, rumors. Nothing more.
2. The source who also posted these rumors also gave correct localized names that aren't exactly easy to guess meaning these rumors are most likely true.

The fact of the matter is, the rumors are MOST LIKELY true. This doesn't make them "confirmed" or factual. On the inverse, just because they're rumors doesn't instantly make them fake.

How many times does rumors that have good backing have to turn out to be true to convince you faggots to keep an open mind about stuff like this? Do you guys honestly enjoy denying these things until they're confirmed only for you to feel terrible for denying them in the first place?

This shit happens every gen, you can even date back to Gen 3 where shit was leaking from random sources. None of that Wottergate shit either.

If a rumor is fake, people would know. These rumors are most likely not fake, but aren't confirmed either so you can't really take either extreme.

It's a defense mechanism, really. Most of the people who are adamant of denying this have probably been tricked in the past or believed false rumors. It's understandable that they wouldn't believe or at least consider a rumor to be true at first sight, but then it comes a time when faced even against the most believable rumor, even ones like these that are almost at the verge of being confirmed, they still deny it.

I don't use pokegen but still give a shit about IVs and hidden power. Just because you're too lazy to rng doesn't mean everyone else is. I honestly wouldn't mind a new type being introduced, fairy or not. All I'm worried about is the possibility of not being able to transfer pokemon from previous gens over because of their maybe being a recalculation of IVs ala gen 3
