Can the 3DS really hold over 700 pokemon
With their own each and unique animations?
Enviroments, Wifi connecting?
I heard the 3ds is like a mini gamecube, But i don't think the gamecube can even do this.

Yes. The 3DS game carts can hold up to 8 gigs if I remember correctly.

There are speculation going around, It'll feature most of Gen 1 and Gen 6 pokemon.

Dude. There are 4 billion different variants of Spinda alone and the previous games managed fine enough.

This is Pokemon Generation 6. The sixth line of main Pokemon games. It's not "likely" they'll have all the Pokemon in it, it's inevitable. I can promise you they will be in it.

Those aren't individual sprites though. The game takes a single base sprite and uses an algorithm to change the colors of certain pixels. You didn't seriously think there were 4 billion different Spinda sprites in the game did you?

You don't seem to know much about storage space. The Pokemon's 3D models and animations won't take up much space, and there are only a handful of animations per Pokemon.

In fact, if Pokemon had chosen to stay 2D but had upped the resolution of the 2D images to the kind of quality these 3D models have complete with all the animations they have, that would actually take up MORE space. On this scale, 3D is a space SAVER.

Gamecube could hold 1.4GB tops in a disc. The 3DS can hold 8GB tops in a cartridge, though only up to 4GB has been produced. On top of that, compression technology has improved in the many years since the GameCube.

These days most space in a game is taken up by audio and if it has them FMV's.

3DS cartridges can hold 25GB of memory.

To put that in perspective, all of Skyrim doesn't take 1/3 of that.

We're talking about STORAGE SPACE.

ALL previous Pokemon WERE PRESENT in the game data of R/S. You could trade ANY OLD POKEMON onto the game. That means they were present, their sprites, cries, stats, everything.

Alright. I just double-checked. Yes, Sapphire/Ruby could trade with Firered/Leafgreen. They could NOT trade with Crystal, Silver, Gold, etc. and earlier games. Which makes sense, of course.

So he doesn't have a point, and I'm an idiot. Let's move onto the next point: Yes, XY will have all the pokemon.

Without some working knowledge of computers it's not easy to see that things like low-poly 3D models, flat/low-resolution textures and animations don't really take up much space. It's also confusing because many people equate "power" with "graphics" so naturally some will assume that the move to full 3D will take up a lot of memory.

As a rule of thumb, music, textures, and most of all movies take up most of the space. Data itself is minuscule by comparison. I don't have direct evidence but I'm sure the reason Fire Emblem is such a large file is due to all the movies.
