So much like Tepig (teacup pig pet craze) & Piplup (penguins were everywhere when DP was released) before it, we have another Pokémon cashing in on a craze happening in popular culture, Fletchling.

Fletchling is very much seemingly based on the book and now movie series known as The Hunger Games.

-Fletchling's name comes from Fletching (the balancing, feather part of an arrow) & Hatchling (as in baby bird). Katniss Everdeen the main character is known for her archery skills.
-Fletchling, a Normal/Flying type Pokémon is also already being shown to know the move Flame Charge, a physical Fire type move.
Katniss is come to be known as "The Girl on Fire" in the book. This could also represent a flaming arrow.
-Mocking Jays are a species of birds in THG series known for there ability to mock sounds and also for their beautiful singing voices. Fletchling is described as having a beautiful chirp.
-Katniss was known to inspire people and also be a very fierce person/warrior when need be. The normally calm Fletchling is said to be ferocious in battle, with powerful attacks.
