what's everyone's opinion on different pokemon forms? Is it a gimmick? What will you do if the new mewtwo-esque pokemon is a different form of mewtwo?

I personally like the concept for arceus but it gets annoying for other pokemon. Mewtwo having another form is a horrible idea.

Yes. It's a way for them to make a pokemon relevant without actually evolving them.

Nobody gave a shit about regular Shaymin for example.
