French here, from the town neat the purple crystal building. I have no idea what the purple crystal building could be, but I have a few possible insights that may very well mean nothing since games tend to stray quite far from their origin locations, but still;
The westernmost zone gives out a clear Broceliande Forest vibe. Expect it to be mystical as shit.
A little to the north is a city on an island. It could very well resemble the Mont St Michel. a place with pretty large tides, which served as a model for the coverart of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Going along the north coast, near the savanna with giant wind turbines and lava lakes is what appears to be a port city, located where Le Havre (which is a very impotant trade port) is. Expect dockers.
The automnal northernmost region is a place where it's supposed to rain a lot. It's also supposed to be kind of a shithole with miners and stuff, so again, don't give my observation too much credit.
No idea what the frosty windmill could represent, but I really like it.
Moving on to the purple crystal building. Again, no idea what the hell it could be. And I live in what's basically the town next to it, so I'm even more intrigued by you.
Slightly more to the west is the large pointy castle on the mountain. Could fit plenty of descriptions in here, but neither the mountains, nor the castles are all that important. It's probably the League.
Beyond the weirdly colored forest (what are they anyway?) is an ice village. No idea it was so cold in the area. Doesn't fit much either.
Moving on to the south, we have some more woods. Loadsawoods in France, so expect several of them to be explorable.
Even more to the south is... Nothing. France has been cut... A bit the way the nazis did it during WWII. Godwin aside, if new areas happen in Z, it'll probably involve areas to the south. Expect beaches and shores.
And, the rest is basically castles... Seriously, that's a shitload of castles. Generally on rivers.
