Honestly, walking animations for human based things is easy, everything is the same size, so you can use the same walking animation on everything, the same pivot points and everything.
You go to pokemon, and everything is different shapes and sizes. You want to spend the time doing the walking animation for a krabby? What about the flip flopping animation of a goldeen?
No you don't, and neither do the developers, it's a gimmick thats outout would not be worth the required input.
