You back up your rom, make a copy, load the copy in the program, and you can modify it to your heart's content. You can change your starter to something you want in particular or let the game decide it randomly. You also randomize the area's encounters. You can keep it to certain things like, if you're in a cave where zubats are, instead of getting a ton of different random pokemon you get one pokemon that replaces zubat's encounter. Or you can just have it be totally random.
You can include legendaries in wild encounters or not, you can change pokemon types or not, it's really customizable, and something you should just mess around with.

I just caught a Mareep! Which is good. But honestly I'm still looking at Stantler with its mixed attacks and decent Speed. (Confuse Ray, Stomp, Charge Beam, Zen Headbutt.) Girafarig would be neat too with an eventual set of Psychic, Crunch, Charge Beam and some other move.

My only distinction I'm trying to make is that usually you do not start with 6 Pokemon total in a Nuzlocke run. That's usually seen in ME runs, however sometimes that can change of course.
As I said though it simply came across as odd that the rules for a normal ME run were adapted to a Nuzlocke style as the Egglocke runs I've seen have always done it differently. I can admit I don't know everything about it, haha. It does sound like a silly distinction the more I think about it, I just feel like the catch one per route and trade it for egg is a more common approach.

Grinding in the Battle factory was not fun when you go up against someone with both Latos and Latias.
But that was nowhere near as frustrating as the Toxic/Rest/Protect/Withdraw Shuckle I came accross, where it killed two of my Pokemon, then I stalled it out of PP with a Nidoking, only to be hit by a Horn Drill next turn by a Rhydon.

Another way to put it would be that's it's not a Nuzlocke adapted to a ME run but a ME run adopted to a Nuzlocke, since the main aspect of a ME seems to be 6 pokémons from the start and the Nuzlocke one seems to be the lack of it. But that would still end up with the name Egglocke as opposed to a Nuzlegg. My mind is a little blown by the existence of Nuzleggs
