>>12351856>>12351902Alright, it's kind of lame, so I'll try and give you guys the short version of it.
When I was young (7 or 8 when pokemon came out), I was really bad at gaming stuff. I mostly relied on my older brother to figure out stuff for me and then I would just copy what he did.
Like, every time I started up a new game on my red version, I would always pick a squirtle, and by the time he was a blastoise, he would always have the moveset of
Mega Punch
Mega Kick
Surf
Blizzard
So yeah, kinda dumb kid here. Wouldn't even try something else cause I already knew this set worked. But when G/S came out, I tried to do stuff for myself. Still wound up falling behind my brother in terms of figuring out stuff and discovering the new pokemon and such.
Well, we eventually both beat the game and were stuck on one remaining challenge of trying to catch those legendary roaming fuckers which would just NOT happen (we didn't know about mean look at the time). We were both chasing them down on our maps, had kurt churning out fast balls for us each day, etc and were having no luck.
So one fateful day, I ran into my bro Raikou, full health, no status problems or anything. I didn't have a good pokemon out front, so I just lobbed a fast ball at it, and as luck would have it, it caught him.
So this was not only the first time I had caught an important pokemon before my brother, this was the first time I had ever managed to beat my brother at something. I was an obnoxious little shit to him about it too. He cheated in some masterballs to catch all of them just to shut me up.
Immediately added Raikou to my team after that and he's been my favorite ever since.
