Do you think they will get it right, and finally show us the Pokemon that is using surf in X and Y? I highly doubt it, but this is one of my highest hopes for this game.

You do make an excellent point, but I don't see anybody wanting to use Remoraid, even if they just use it for surf.

I'd like it, for pokemon that are too small to support your weight you could hold on to them like a kickboard.
