My godfather (John Gamefreak) and my dad decided to become partners (Not in a gay way) to form Gamefreak Industries Incorporated Inc (which was a branch of the Nintendo company my father made)
Not long after founding the company, Gamefreak brought out it's first platform, the Gameboy (Game as in Gamefreak and boy as in because it was meant for men [Not in a gay way])
With this platform they brought out their first game; Pokemon (Red blue yellow etc). Because this console was for men, they wanted manly heterosexual types, like FIGHTING, ROCK, GROUND, STEEL (That came later) etc.
They said that young men wouldn't want to play a game with things like "Fairy" or "Musical Theatre type". This is why any pokemon that seem gay like clefairy/jiggilypuff/etc etc are NORMAL type, to show that they are NOT GAY.
