White version, grinding Audino in Driftveil City to level up my baby Axew, and I just found and caught a Shiny Audino. You wouldn't believe the sound I made when I saw it. My tenth or so Shiny I've caught in the wild throughout my time playing Pokemon.

Hatched a Shiny Ralts in Platinum. Fortunately it was Jolly and male, so a Shiny Gallade it became. Wasn't intending to use a Gallade either, I was going to use a Gardevoir, but I wasn't going to box him, so my team had a brother duo with normal Gardevoir and Shiny Gallade. I loves them.

For some reason, I seem to get Shiny Oddish a lot. Every generation I find at least one.

I didn't even know that shinies existed until I started on /vp/ a month or two ago.

I've played Gen 1 and 2 then came back older and have played 4 and 5 all the way through.

I have neeeever seen a shiny in my life, let alone caught one. I'm feeling a bit cheated.

Only shiny I've ever managed to find in the wild was in Fire Red. Shiny pidgey on route 1 before I had poke balls. First encounter. I got so fucking pissed.

Don't feel too bad, I thought the same thing when I was a kid, then I found a shiny Raticate. I thought my game was glitching and I came this close to running away because I was afraid it would break my game, but I caught it anyway.

Back then, though, a lot of the shinies were not very different in color to their normal counterparts, Raticate being one of them. I had that thing for months before I even realised it was a different color to normal raticates.

Not until gen 3 did I realise that the Raticate wasn't a glitch and that shinies were a thing, from looking it up online. So I missed it even AFTER finding a shiny.

I've been playing Pokémon for about ten years now. I play a hell of a lot, too. I had never, ever once encountered a shiny. After playing through every main series game about 3 or 4 times each. Was a kind-of in-joke between me and a friend.

Then yesterday it finally happened. Searching post-game after a failed Hard mode White 2 Nuzlocke in Pinwheel Forest. Shiny Whirlipeed. I cheered so much. Like, fuck. I'm gonna EV train Scolipede so hard. I don't even care if he doesn't have that perfect nature, he's a bro for giving me such a pleasant surprise.

Never used Scolipede before, any good movesets?

Well I only started finding shinies this year. (two in White2, one in HG)
The first was an Amoonguss which was then outmatched in every way by the second, Sneasel. The third was Audino and the rest are the gift Dragonite & Garchomp so they don't really count.

I got really lucky with a shiny, I was just breeding up some Gen 4 starters to transfer to black 2 to fill holes in my dex. I took out piplup to train it to Empoleon and suddenly realised it was freaking shiny.

Shit IVs but still, it's a decent SR and toxic setter.

I have to admit, I almost never pass on an egg. If I have to I let the guy keep the egg till I have time to deal with it.

Having said that, since you deal with far fewer eggs than total encounters passing on an egg isn't quite as risky in my mind as using lots of repels.

My first and best shiny was a Tentacool back in Sapphire. Evolved it up into a Tentacruel, and it's been following me through the generations ever since. Love my Tonsor. Even reset its EVs back in Diamond and retrained it.

I've had a bunch of other shinies since then, but the other notable story was my Gastly, who I traded to a friend because he wanted a shiny Haunter, and all was well... until I had heard that he lost the cartridge the Gastly was on. Poor poor Gastly. I knew ye well.

I've had a few shinys over the years. The latest ones were from a Nuzlocke Emerald run. I legit found a level 40 Hariyama on the way to the Elite Four, but earlier in the run I found a shiny male Aron, which I caught it even though it wasn't the first in the area

That I can remember at this moment.. I caught a shiny Tympole while EV'training outside of Pinwheel Forest.

Two days later.. shiny Patrat while EV'training near the daycare. Both on White.

Before that.. I can't really remember, my memory is terrible. I did Masuda breed for Shroomish on Soul Silver. Got three of them, because I wanted one with Poison Heal.

A few months ago, I Masuda bred an Eevee as a gift for a friend. It took me forever.. I dont know why the Eevee was harder than the Shroomish.

Yet to find one in Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, Black or Black2. Caught Timburr 9 hours in to White though. That was a good catch. Only problem is, I got White on the day of release, so now a normal Conkeldurr looks better to me.

As a former shiny hunter, I have a shit ton of shinies.
First ever was a random Oddish, I loved that guy (restarted game forgetting about him)
Then I found a random shiny Herdier. Caught in a quick ball, it knew roar. Still have it.
Random shiny Zigzagoon in Sapphire, wanted to start new file, had no way of moving it to another game, and went "fuck it" and restarted over it. I'll miss you too Zigsworth.
Then I started hunting. Like most novice shiny hunters, I started with a Johto starters hunt in HG (You can hunt all three at once, because if they are shiny, they will appear shiny before you pick them). Got a shiny fuckin Chikorita. Hell yeah.
Then I hunted for a shiny Treecko, got in within a day. Named her Terra. Still a Grovyle. Contemplating on evolving her or not.
Then I hunted in Petalburg woods. Shiny Cascoon. Still got him as a level 40 or so Dustox on my Black 2.
Then I hunted for on Route 5 in Black 2. Got a shiny Trubbish.
Started hunting Johto starters again. Got two shiny Totodiles in under 300 soft resets.
Then I had a 70 hour hunt on route 110 on my sapphire. Shiny Electrike, totally worth it.
Then I chained a shiny Furret on Platinum (fav pokemon)
and I can't remember if I have any others off the top of my head. But yeah.
