Posting this here, because I figured I'd get the most helpful responses. My younger brother just for a 3DS XL for his birthday, the lucky shithead. I was contemplating getting him an R4 card to go with it, but I'm not sure if it'll work.
I've heard a lot of people say that they work on a regular 3DS that's never been updated. Would it be the same for the 3DS XL? He's never connected it to the internet, so it couldn't have updated the software yet.
