Maybe your rich parents were killed, so you're being raised by your family's butler; when you turned ten (which is where the game starts), you decide to go on your journey to learn the ways of being a pokemon trainer. This is where the evil team appears. Using deception to trick you into believing that they're good guys after you defeat the gym leaders, they offer to train you into becoming a pokemon master, but you find out after completing your tutelage that they're actually planning to destroy Lumiose City due to what they see as its excessive corruption, which you put a stop to by defeating the leader of the group. Victorious, you settle down in Lumoise, using your vast riches to acquire powerful Pokemon, and using your mastery of the creatures to protect the city from any other threats.
