So it's possible to beat pokemon stadium with rental pokemon only.

Do you think it's possibly to do it perfectly, not a single death.

Not to derail, but is it even possible to beat Pokemon Stadium 2 with rentals? I remember that fucking gym leader castle. I made it to the elite 4 and got to Lance out of sheer luck and then lost.

Technically, it should be possible, but I would not even bother, the cpu fucking cheats and they give rental pokemon shit moves. I bet Machop has a better moveset than that Machamp.

I did it before. Had the Prima guide for it, which included recommended rentals for each cup and gym. Even the Rival battle. Round 2 was near impossible with rentals, though.

It's a project I want to do, I guess I would attempt each cup a round or gym at a time and run away if a pokemon dies ( possibly keep a montage of all the deaths )

If you notice this is how all the evolutions are.

It's to balance everything out so pre-evos aren't utterly useless if you're just using rentals...because why else would you rent completely inferior pokemon?

Yeah, and is anything I think the game encourages you to use your own Pokemon.

Anyway this project is a dud, I can't record it, I got the devices and everything to do so but my comp isn't capable of recording it.

Bummer I'll guess I'll do it for a side project, but who will believe me without the video.

But why would you even rent an unevolved pokemon? It probably was a very effective strategy to sell more red and blue copies so poeple could at least play them in the 64 and then transfer them to the 64.
Also, dat glorious Dodrio speed made things so fun back then.

This. I beat the E4 in Stadium 2 with rentals but didn't get far in the second round. Umbreon and Jynx were rather helpful the first time through, if I recall correctly.
