Anyway, I bought about 20 potions total till now and they served me good, fucking Nincadas and ground types in general. Also since struggle dealt more damage than HP on the 1st gym I've OHKO'd enough random encounters so that I had 0 PP and then after a lucky crit on my second attack the nosepass fell and I was victorious.
Might not take on the next gym instantly, as it's optional for now, will see how I do on the gym trainers first.
