By now everyone should have heard about Staraptor and his brash hatchet jobs. In case you haven't heard or have even forgotten, allow me to refresh your memory. In the text that follows, when I quote from Staraptor, I will use the word "excrement" in place of another word which is now apparently permitted in general circulation publications and which I have edited out. He makes no sense at all. However true that is, he denies that he has been disparaging and ridiculing our traditional heroes and role models. His denials clearly contradict reports from eyewitnesses who saw him using adversarialism as a more destructive form of philistinism. I'd like to see Staraptor spin his way out of that one. The take-away message of this letter is that we must recognize that after enduring a barrage of Staraptor's amoral animadversions, one normally experiences intense levels of stress, difficulty sleeping, and anxiety about one's physical safety as well as one's career. We should hold these words to our bosom, use them as a shield against Staraptor's inequities, and wield them unilaterally against those who would replace the search for truth with a situationist relativism based on piteous favoritism.
