Alternate DW types would be a wicked cool idea. Maybe give the DW Pokemon a few aesthetic differences to tell the typing apart (for example DW Fighting/Flying Braviary, longer Indian hat and scars)

At the very worst, just force a certain type of Poke Ball like the Dream Ball for Landorus (Sheer Force).

I'd be okay with this version of retconning- for the fairy types at least, alt other types might get a little messy.
Honestly that's the one thing that I hate most about the idea of a new type. I'd rather it start as dark type did and make new pokemon to fit it, rather than changing a huge chunk of old pokemon to fit a new thing. This way continuity remains intact.

on the other hand, they won't be handing out evolutions like they were in Gen 4 because of the repercussions due to eviolite's buffs. I don't exactly think it's their intention to make NFEs that are stronger than their evolved forms, such as dusclops and dusknoir.

Agreed. But we're stuck with it.

...unless they don't let you trade items from 5>6 (just like with 4>5). In which case, they could potentially just leave out Eviolite altogether and not have to worry about it.

Yes but it makes many Pokémon unable to receive evolutions for risk of them becoming over powered because of the eviolite. Like tauros, lapras, etc
