Heatproof now grants the user a static x2 resistance to Fire regardless of the type (Heatproof Bronzong would resist Fire x2, Heatproof Genesect would resist Fire x2 too despite both Pokemon being weak to Fire)

Weavile would be great in VGC. You could get a Gem boosted Night Slash, Ice Punch or even Fake Out and steal your oponent's item while doing so.

Just make it an immunity. It's a lot simpler and makes sense flavor-wise (the Pokemon is fucking heat-proof, heat shouldn't do shit to it). It would be a worse Flash Fire, so I guess it's not overpowered.

It should also grant an Ice-type immunity.

Alternatively, the ability activates every time another Pokemon switches into the Pokemon with Frisk, as well as when the Pokemon with frisk switches in.

You can have Lilligant use Petal Dance and your opponent switches in Ferrothorn, and you'll get iron barbs damage. You can get burned from a Volcarona.

Anger Point - in addition to its previous effect, the pokemon is guaranteed to live for one more turn. Meaning that if the crit would have killed it, it can get one more attack off then die.

I can see Drapion becoming standard in UU with that. Taking halved damage from Close Combat, Megahorn, Earthquake, Flare Blitz and V-Create, with a great defensive typing, decent bulk and Toxic Spikes and Whilrwind on it's arsenal, it could be a top physical wall, and even be viable in OU.

I made an OU team based around Altaria the other day. I was running Cotton Guard - Flamethrower - Roost - Toxic. Got crit'd and lost, but it was an awesome physical wall.
If it could remove weather by just switching in, it'd be so awesome... Altaria would not only be viable in OU, but good in it.

Actually, Forewarn, that's kinda similar to that effect, is a shitty ability, but can be quite useful in some situations.
I remember in VGC finding it pretty useful to know if my opponent's Salamence was special or physical based, though they were mostly special and fucked my shit.

Yes, because there are abilities that only proc when you use contact moves, which wouldn't power you up if you used flamethrower instead of fire punch.

Just because nothing (except one that you're ignoring for some reason despite being viable) that has it uses it well doesn't mean it's a bad ability.

Give it to something that isn't special like hitmonlee that can abuse acrobatics/fling/whatever and isn't already fast as fuck and unburden becomes an amazing asset. Right now, like 4/5 of the Pokemon unburden is on are all special and outspeeding everything.
Of course it's not gonna be useful in those cases when the three best attacks to get rid of your item are physical and you don't need a speed boost at all anyway.

Someone can argue that there's no good Unburden users, but not that Unburden is bad. Just isn't in pokémon who can truly abuse it.
Imagine Unburden in something like Scizor, or even Absol.

I'd be less afraid of a Scizor with unburden than a Scizor with Technician. Far less afraid. Can't speak for Absol cause I rarely see them. In order for a pokemon to abuse it, it has to already be fast so that the 50% gain is noticable, but not so fast that they're already outspeeding most things in the tier, on top of needing to use a gem.

Try to imagine shit like unburden Heracross, Terrakion or Alakazam.

Yeah, Scizor was just an example, first overpower pokémon that come to my mind. Though it would be pretty good with Unburden too. The main selling point of Technician Scizor is Bullet punch, but with doubled speed, it wouldn't need priority so much, since it isn't weak to any priority and has good bulk. It could use more powerful options like Iron Head wich also has that nice 30% flinch chance.

But there are some pokémon that the only thing that hurts them is it's bad speed. These ones could use Umburden to it's full.

I never used Genesect, but, I was pretty shocked that I OHKOd one in the current Nintendo tournament with my Archeops. Flying Gem-boosted Acrobatics and BANG, it was dead before doing anything.
I thought it was more durable.

No, it's not like that. It's a really good pokemon.

The main reason it's extremely overused is because it fits on every team, and it's got that mix of hitting quite hard, being able to set up, has reliable recovery and is quite bulky as well, not to mention it does great on rain and sand too. Can revenge kill, can tank, can even sweep in the right conditions.

It's not the ultimate sweeper or broken pokemon, it's just a really good pokemon that you can put on every team and make it work properly.

if you predict he's going to protect, then just use a set-up move so that he effectively wastes the protect turn. Not to mention that strategy doesn't allow slaking to use CB (which he's always used since forever).

Hell, I bet that even with that new form of Truant, most slaking users would use CB and essentially just ignore the better Truant.
