>>12377970I think gen I is the worst gen because it's fucking shit next to all the other ones. The pokemon are lackluster, the environments are repetitive and uninteresting, Rocket is the most basic, cliche, "bad for the sake of being bad" team, and I found nothing all that memorable about it. Blue was my first game and I enjoyed it, but I get 100% more nostalgia out of playing GSC or even RSE.
Gen I is honestly nothing special, if Kanto had been the 3rd-5th gen region it would probably be the most hated game, but it's the first so it gets more leeway than it even deserves.
