So, what exactly stands behind the type chart? Why is bug supposed to beat psychic? or poison resistent to fight ?

Fighting pokemon rely mostly on their vitality and body and strength, right? Well, poison can pretty much be viewed as disease, and sickness weakens people severely. That's just how I've always thought of it. Also Psychic= fears

Like people have stated above me Psychic is weak to Dark, Bug, and Ghosts because of fear.
That's also why ghost is to dark and dark is weak to bug.
