Before Latios, Swellow had never been knocked out without AT LEAST taking the other one with him. In every Hoenn League battle it took out two motherfuckers. Statistically, I think it's Ash's best pokemon.

Statistically, this might be the best team. Seeing as team balance really isn't that important in the anime, and as Ash never relies on type advantage, I see no problem in two fire types. But I agree with those who mentioned Gible, it should be in rotation because of its performance in the Sinnoh League and its potential.

Swellow was never that great.
Swap Swellow out with Krookodile, swap Charizard out with Glalie.
Add Charizard, Taurus, and Bayleef (preferably evolved) to reserves and you're good

If a drawfag were to take a crack at drawing a comic, or manga if you prefer, retelling the anime, how much would you guys like changed?

Would you like battles to be full-on aim for the horn?
Full Smogon?
Or a balance between the two in which types certainly play a large part, but type effectiveness can be overcome via proper strategy, training or preparation?

How about the actual plot and characters; would you like it the same, or would you change some of the decisions made?

"Moves" are a game construct that play little purpose in an actual world with real-time combat. I would make it such that you instruct your pokemon on how to fight, rather than say "use THIS fire ball, or THIS different fire ball" as if it has any meaning in the real world whether something is a lava plume or an eruption.
