Seriously, I loved not having to be reminded how different the new pokemon look. That made me enjoy using them.

Yes. It made the game feel more new and fresh. Going to caves without Zubats was wonderful.

It only appeared in 3 mandatory caves, one of which you're only required to be in to fight some Plasma grunts a couple of steps away from the entrance, and in the other 2 it's one of the least common pokemon in the area.

BW was a a "reboot" and the beginning of a new gen.

Onyl allwoing new Pokemon was a cool move in the sense that the game forced you to meet new pokemon, embrace them , find your bros etc

BW2 is a sequel, and GF assumes that you played BW., and you are, therefore familiar with the new stuff already, so they allow older mons so now you can use your old bros and the new ones in the ultimate team

Fucking THIS.

Black was the first pokemon game I genuinely enjoyed entirely since first playing Red. The lack of old pokes made me develop the same love of some of the new ones as I feel for old Gen 1 pokemon, even made a fully gen 5 team.

I still have no real feelings toward gen 2/3/4 pokemon, since I never really had to bother experiencing them.
