So I'm starting the PWT soon, and probably some competitive online after that. I have the following pokes with good IVs and full EVs:

Tyranitar, Garchomp, Excadrill, Hydreigon, Zoroark, Flygon, Crobat, Starmie, Gengar, Darmanitan, Chandelure, Heracross and Arcanine.

Any interesting things I could do to compliment some of them in the double, triple or type expert tournaments in PWT? I'd love a team that could present a challenge.

OP here. Before you ask: given the fast nature and pace of the battles in PWT, I have simply given them max speed and attack/special attack, depending on what's their highest.

I raped the PWT with Darmanitan, Starmie and Weavile/Hitmontop (I was alternating them as I cleared the PWT, both equally useful).

I'd suggest going Choice Scarf Darmanitan, Sash Starmie and probably Garchomp.

In doubles, choice scarf Darmanitan is the ultimate rape machine, but you need to pair it with a pokemon that can learn fake out if you want it to nail more than one KO. Tyranitar - Garchomp - Excadrill are awesome too, both in doubles and singles, but you get a bunch of common weaknesses. If they're properly trained you shouldn't have trouble, though.

If you have immensely powerful pokes like OP, and use pokemon that really compliment each other with abilities and stuff like that (Tyranitar, Garchomp, Excadrill), you should be fine with just giving them 10 vitamins for each stat.

I used my properly trained pokes from BW to clear the PWT, but I think it's possible with the story team, though it's challenging.

With my actual VGC team, I devastated the PWT without even having to think. I think it may have been cooler if I used in-game pokes, but once you get into competitive, there's no much fun to be had from beating the AI. It's always on easy mode, and that kinda sucks.

Lucario, Weavile and Flygon are good enough to beat the PWT in singles as long as you have a couple of brain cells.

Without proper training, it may be a bit challenging, but if you used them in-game, you should be able to clear the PWT after a few tries.

also am I the only one to find weavile's movepool a bit shallow?

I found that U-Turn Zoroark paired up with Acrobatics-Flying Gem-Crobat is a pretty interesting combination. Disguise Zoroark as a poke that promotes the use of Psychic and demotivates the use of Bug/Fighting. If you play that right, it's really great. You can get a heep of immunities and resistances if you play that right, and it really gives you the momentum.

I don't regret being into competitive at all, though.

It's kinda shit not being able to enjoy the game as much as I used to, but I enjoy the meta much more.

Still, I'm mostly testing teams all day on PO, and I have a serious match in PS every once in a while. If I had serious battles all day every day, I'd get tired of it pretty fast. The only thing one needs to do is not overdoing it, and it should be fine.

Calm Mind is pretty dangerous, Lucario can never be expected to take hits, and getting a half of the boost is pretty awful.

I'd go with Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse and Vaccum Wave, though. Lucario's speed is pretty mediocre and dark-fighting gives you enough coverage.

And yeah, Weavile's movepool is incredibly shallow, but is good enough. Flygon and Lucario should be able to obliterate steel types on their own, so Weavile has a pretty good offensive synergy with them. Just teach it Ice Punch, Night Slash, Low Kick, and a fourth move of choice, and it should kill a lot of shit. With a choice band, a Life Orb or a Gem it's gonna be hitting pretty hard and killing a lot of shit.

Start with Tyranitar @ Air Balloon with Excadrill @ Life Orb in the middle (assuming you have sand rush) and one of your levitate special attackers on the right. Rape everything with Rock Slide and EQ. If he falls, send Garchomp in his place. Use the levitators/flyers on the flanks for coverage. You'll beat triples easy with those fuckers.
