I think in XY, shining pokemon should also get a unique encounter theme. Like a remixed wild pokemon battle theme, all shinified with twinkles and shit. Like you're just rolling along and all of a sudden it's that pre battle flourish, but slightly different, then you see the pokemon sparkle and shit, and the entire battle theme is remixed for this rare fucker. Would be pretty banging.

on a similar note, what about the term "legendaries"?

I call them that. You call them that. We've all referred to them as such for as long as we can remember. But I can't say I've EVER seen a reference to "legendary pokemon" (besides arcanine) in any of the games. Is it simply a meme (in the actual sense of the word)?

I don't remember if this is true, but I recall hearing that shinies in BW/2 will have the rare pokemon battle theme that plays when you find something in shaking grass or a wild double battle.

Nope. It's the normal theme; the only extra shiny acknowledgement in BW2 is the medal for finding one.

Yes, it is a name (go see XY's website and look around for Mewtwo, it says it's legendary). Not only that but some pokemon are Mythical aswell.

Speaking of shinies and canon, I've always wished you could run into trainers with shiny Pokemon.
Isn't the Red Gyarados the single canon shiny Pokemon in the whole series?

Shinies were called pokémon of "alternative color" in DPPt; since BW, they're "shinies". There has been something similar with Eeveelutions, which were called that in some official guide back in DPPt.

Don't know, I only played FRLG once. It's a... building in one of the Sevii Islands. It's useless outside of Japan because it needed an e-Card Reader or some shit for new trainers, but one of the default ones would always have a shiny Espeon.
