In goldenrod Mart you can trade a drowzee for a machop, you can catch an onix or geodude or trade a bellsprout for an onix earlier. I've never seen what the big deal was, they give you help

Remember that kids hardly knew what they were doing. Those who picked Cyndaquil were horribly raped by that roll out.

And I'm not sure if it was just me, but when I was a kid, I always filled my moveslot with 4 attacking moves so I had no idea about the power of stat-boosting moves.
