I thought it was pretty decent. Felt a lot like watching the Gen 1 anime. Glad they did something with Team Rocket.
On the other hand, I hated how Ash has to be retarded every starting season. Pikachu is fine, it regularly catches pika-cancer or gets shot by a god to justify lowering its level. But Ash being absolutely retarded again every generation is annoying as fuck seeing as weeks prior, he had knocked out two legendaries on Tobias's team using a team of 4/6 basic Pokemon.
His companions were sort of assholes too. I would've preferred seeing Hilbert/Hilda.
Or hell, make the entire series about those two. Then in season two, introduce Rosa and pineapples. Make it like that one commercial for BW2.
