Things like car repairs, or a rainy day fund, or enough money to move to a slightly less shitty neighborhood. Or student loans if they went to college. So yes, I think that people who assume that the only reason someone can't afford a minimum of $140 (used system and new game) out of pocket is because they're "an immigrant working at 2 cents an hour" are to entitled to know there's any sort of middle ground.
