Just ordered Pokémon Black 2 that I plan to play on 3DS.

Does Shiny2 work as it should? I want to create specific (legal) pokémon in pokégen and create their .pkm files. So I use those files to mimic a poké distribution server on my PC and my 3DS connects to it and downloads that pokémon.

Did I understand it correctly?

Any tips or advices regarding how to make this work once the game arrives?

You can "make" a pokemon and download it over the GTS with some software and

pokegts.us/5thGen_Upload.aspx

Super easy; just change your DNS server

Used Pokegen (and Pokesav before) extensively. Just want to know which DNS to use for 3DS.

Pokegts is fine if you're just sending the .pkm files to your game. You really only need Shiny2 if you're extracting Pokémon from your own game or doing a distro.

Doesn't say anything about which version (bytewise) of .pkm file to upload.

Can someone give a brief rundown step by step on how I get the pokemon I just created from Pokegen to my game? I have my SID and such.

Playing Black 2 and I also have a 3DS

As I understood it:

1. Create Pokémon in Pokégen
2. file-> save pokémon, save it as 136 byte data (not encrypted)
3. It will create a .pkm file on your PC
4. Use pokegts.us to upload your .pkm file and ditribute it I think
5. Be on the same network (you can't upload via PC on one network and then try to connect via 3DS that is connecting through different router)
6. In 3DS wifi settings enter 204.45.29.54 for DNS settings
7. Use GTS in game to get your poke

I didn't try all of this yet because I didn't get my game yet, but this is how I think it's done.
